Biographies:

Martin E. Wilson, LCSW, President


Marty has served as the President of ABLE since its inception in 1999.  His collective experience lends to ABLE’s credibility as a high quality provider.  Marty’s fun, dynamic personality adds humor to an already encouraging and caring environment.  Marty not only performs executive-type functions, but is always willing to help out with all aspects of program delivery, ensuring a safe and responsive service.

Marty’s experience includes:

  • More than twenty years of experience in the field of human services.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work from Colorado State University.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Colorado.
  • Psychotherapist with an EMDR Certificate.
  • CTAT Certified Employment Consultant
  • Counseled families, children, seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings.
  • Served as a professional fundraiser, host home provider and minister.
  • Talented musician, writer and songwriter.

 

Sang L. Wilson, Vice President


Sang has served as the Vice President of ABLE since its inception in 1999.  His consistent attention to detail coupled with a penchant for the technical means a safe drive home with staff armed with cell phones and first aid kits.  Sang oversees daily operations, but always make time for anyone in need of a kind word and a pep talk.

Sang’s experience includes:

  • More than ten years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities including 2.5 years as a host home provider.
  • Performs many functions to include human resources, transportation, administrative duties and oversees many business ventures.
  • Attended various trainings with numerous certificates related to word processing, spreadsheets, human resources and defensive driving.
  • Has extensive experience in the business world including ownership of four youth hostels, managing various work crews and paralegal experience.
  • Talented musician, songwriter, and photographer.

 

Kendra L.Wilson, M.Ed., Director of Educational Development



Kendra remains ABLE's efficient go-to gal.  She has been an integral
part of ABLE since its inception in 1999, serving many important
functions. Kendra has a heart for people with a genuine desire to get
things right the first time. Her commitment to quality can be seen in
the management of her day service, the paperwork she generates and the
other executive-type functions she performs. She infuses her upbeat
attitude and years of education & experience in her trainings &
infrastructure development. Kendra's love for learning includes
extensive research regarding positive behavior supports, sound teaching
methods, and HR/staff retention issues.  


Kendra's experience includes:

  • More than 10 years experience in the field of developmental
    disabilities, including 2.5 years as a host home provider, job coach,
    life skills educator, and program director.
  • Masters Degree in Education/HR Studies from Colorado State
    University.
  • Bachelors Degree in Communication Arts with a minor in
    Psychology from California Lutheran University with an Associates in
    Paralegal from Denver Paralegal Institute.
  • Created & developed a day program from the ground up providing
    supported employment and community participation activities.
  • Associate member & certified instructor (CPI) of the
    International Association of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention & Certified
    First Aid & CPR trainer with the National Safety Council. 

 

Lindsay Eames,  Residential Program Manager:


Lindsay finds safe, caring and respectful host homes for adults with developmental disabilities.  She’s receptive to the needs of those in service, matching their individual requirements with a provider who best fits their wants and desires.  Long term, successful placements is her goal!

Lindsay’s experience includes:

  • More than 5 years of experience working in the field of Developmental Disabilities.
  • Program Supervisor for two residential treatment centers for youth.
  • Served as a counselor to homeless persons, pregnant teens, & teenagers with mental illness.
  • Served as an Activity aide for the youthfully-challenged and was a Residential Program Counselor for adult women with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
  • B.A. in Counseling Psychology for Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado.

 

Vivian Peyton,  Program Manager - Grand Junction


Vivian is the representative of Grand Junction. Her program consists of academics and life skills, such as cooking, respect, manners and a multitude of safety courses and physical fitness activities. Vivian also takes pride in the Job Development program which gives clients the opportunity to become more independent within the community. Vivian's main goal is to help all clients meet their highest potential with fortitude and determination. Vivian is compassionate and always puts her clients and staff needs above her own.

Vivian’s experience includes:

  • More than 5 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Bachelors degree in Psychology - HS Charter Oak State College. Currently working on a Masters Degree in Marriage and Group Counseling - HS Capella University.
  • Worked with youth in crisis and youth employment through the Colorado Workforce Center.
  • Attended a wide-range of classes in Stress Management and Trauma Intervention.
