June 1st, 2010
Hey Everybody we had a great barbeque on May 14th! Thank you to all the host homes and parents that came to enjoy the afternoon with us!
We also hiked a couple of trails on the Colorado National Monument this month. We went to the Pig-A-Sus animal rescue farm to learn about the history of their farm and about the history of pot-bellied pigs. We had the opportunity to go to Roper Music where we were taught about different types of instruments and what they sound like. We went the Palisade Greenhouse to learn about planting. We are looking forward to a great June!
On June 3rd and June 10th, we will be taking groups to tour the KJCT 8 television studio. June 18th, we will be celebrating all of our birthdays for the month and we will be having a party! On June 25th, we will be going out to Island Acres to play some beach volleyball and croquet. Our volunteering programs continue to do well and everyone enjoys giving back to our community!
As the weather continues to get hotter, please wear sunscreen on those sunny days, to avoid sunburns. Hats and sunglasses are also welcome additions. Also, hydration is essential during these warmer months. Please make sure to send a water bottle or a sports drink as we don’t want anyone to get dehydrated. Extra water and cups will also be provided by ABLE.
As always, we would like to thank the families and host home providers for making ABLE a continuing success. Please let us know if you have suggestions, questions, or comments. We would love to hear from you.
Have a great June!
