A Better Life Experience, Inc. is a family owned & operated organization started by the Wilson family in 1999.
It was their desire to use their combined experience & related education, to assist adults with developmental disabilities in designing their own version of a better life experience.
The Wilson’s built ABLE from the ground up, performing direct care duties to various administrative tasks. ABLE now has 3 locations, providing residential, supported employment & community participation all with a “family feel”.

Consistency, choice & accountability are beliefs that drive our reputation as a high quality service provider.
Promoting & assisting individuals in their efforts toward independence, at all levels, is at the forefront of service delivery.
Proactive positive behavior supports are provided using natural consequences & natural supports resulting in natural outcomes.

ABLE residential serves the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities in homes across the Denver and Boulder areas. A nurse is available with residential support 24 hours a day. Our goal is to find the right provider the first time!

Martin E. Wilson, LCSW, President:: Marty has served as the President of ABLE since its inception in 1999. his collective experience lends to ABLE’s credibility as a high quality provider. Marty’s fun, dynamic personality adds humor to an already encouraging and caring environment. Marty not only performs executive-type functions, but is always willing to help out with all aspects of program delivery, ensuring a safe and responsive service.

Sang L. Wilson, Vice President: Sang has served as the Vice President of ABLE since its inception in 1999. His consistent attention to detail coupled with a penchant for the technical means a safe drive home with staff armed with cell phones and first aid kits. Sang oversees daily operations, but always make time for anyone in need of a kind word and a pep talk.

Kendra L. Wilson, M.Ed., Director: Kendra remains ABLE’s efficient go-to gal. She has been an integral part of ABLE since its inception in 1999, serving many important functions. Kendra has a heart for people with a genuine desire to get things right the first time. Her commitment to quality can be seen in the management of her day service, attitude and years of education & experience in her trainings & infrastructure development. Kendra’s love for learning includes intensive research regarding positive behavior supports, sound teaching methods, and HR/staff retention issues.

Erin VonRuden, Residential Director: Erin comes to ABLE by way of Minnesota, where she spent six years running the program department for a group home company serving individuals with disabilities. A graduate of the University of MN, Twin Cities, she has a BA in Psychology and Sociology. A resident of Colorado for just over a year, she enjoys both the beautiful setting and the mild winters (no more ten below zero mornings)! She is excited to be part of the ABLE team- running the residential department and supporting both clients and host home providers- and genuinely likes coming to work every day.

Dawn Wick, RN: Dawn is the newest member of the ABLE team. She is excited to start her new career with such a wonderful and experienced group of individuals. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and then went on to pursue her nursing degree. She is eager to continue her learning experiences and be a positive asset to a great group of people.
